This series of works is inspired by the clothing of the goddesses at the Lady Linshui Temple in Tainan. (Yes, it will be a series as I’ve already completed all the sketches🤣)
I’m the kind of person who is really fond of visiting heritage sites, especially Asian temples. I often see cloud patterns on mostly male gods’ clothes or architectural elements. Those clouds seem solid to me. As a female, I always feel there is sort of distance between me and the patterns.
Until I saw these clouds on the clothing of the goddesses. I discovered that clouds could also carry an air of gentle beauty. I love it very much 💞
I designed the flowers in two versions. The one with clouds shows the classic divine beauty of the goddess. And the black and white one shows the modern vibes.
Women are diverse. And no matter which aspect, we are all beautiful. 🤍✨
